Hey Straight Pool Players!

I know they're a lot of 14.1 players on this board. Anybody planning on playing this one?

Hey Andy -
By when do we have to sign up?
I know a couple of people up here who might be interested.

Hi Liz,

The entry fee is $150 up til November 1st. After that I think it is going up to $175. I'm not sure if there's a drop dead date but we are trying to have everything organized before the tournament start.

Best thing to do is call the tournament director Peter Burrows to let him know. His number is 410 757-6088 or you can email him: peterpool at comcast.net

I saw the flyer posted at Amsterdam Billiards and was wondering if I was good enough to play. I guess it will be mainly Pros?

It should be a good range of pros to decent amateurs. I know of about 6 players in the mix with 100+ high runs and at least 8 paid players with high runs from 30 to 60.

We have a Wednesday night league with 40 players and only 1 player with a 100+ high run. Most are in the 20's and 30's. We figure playing against some better northeast players can infuse some appreciation and re-dedication to straight pool.

Should be fun! Come on down...

bump, bump..
I decided to come down and take my lumps!
I'll call the TD tomorrow to sign up..

4 spots left! Call Peter Burrows 401 757-3488 to get in. How would you like to meet these guys in your round robin group:

Danny Harriman
Danny Barouty
Steve Lipsky
Mike Davis
Don Polo
Ryan McCreesh
Zion Zvi
Ed Deska

I'll post the groups when I get them. Play starts Saturday morning.

FYI, I heard that Mike Davis ran a 179 at Orange Ball yesterday. Could be an interesting tournament with some surprise performances. I guess I won't go since I can barely run 9 in a row!

Hey Beetle!

Yes, I heard the same story last night. Mike's been practicing a lot this week.

I've been playing better as well. I'm running 40's in most of my straight pool league matches.

We were working on the bios of all the players for the program for this weekend. There are some strong players! That relatively unknown guy Zion Zvi who won a qualifying spot at Bill & Billies back in April ran 191 last week! He's only played straight pool for less than a year. I'd estimate that the top 16 players this weekend have all run 100+. A couple players have 200+ runs!

What have I got myself into...

More info please

Is this field filled yet? If so when will the groupings be posted? In addition is the start time for Saturdays matches at 10:00a.m. I want to come to watch and learn.
