What is the meaning behind the players listed in red ?

Dave, will be curious to see if Glen shows up, but not holding his breath

<edit> Sure, edit your post while I'm writing mine why dontcha  , but thanks for answering my question just the same ;)

Over Tyler? Edwin is awesome. Definitely. There will be a lot of great matches. In the womens I have to bet on Rachael Abbink.

yes Edwin,I know both their games quite well and think they are both capable BUT its that philipino hunger that Edwin has.The tourny is Edwin's to give away.
I agree with it will be Rachael,Joanne or Cathy. But have to go with my buddy.;)

One way or another I am looking forward to it. It will be fun.

I am also looking forward to seeing how Jerod Amyot is playing now. He moved out west and is playing in Calgary now. He was playing as a strong AA weak AAA when he left. Given the level of play out there he could be much stronger now.

I just hope to play my best and give it a run. The way I look at it, I am one of the lowest seeds going in and am not expected to win. That said, if one of the pros walks into a match with me figuring it is a bye, they go home. Simple.

I hope to get to watch a number of the matches. We don't get to see that level of play in this area very often. I am very excited.

Berringer Championship with Simonis 860 and Aramith Super Pro Tv balls.

The Pro/Am with the press is tonight so I will know more tomorrow about how the tables play.

Thanks for the info Jay!!
I was still thinking about buying a spot if it was still available. Wor will toss in a $300 sponsorship.:D :D

good luck, kick butt.try and gives us updates every night if you can.

Hey CheezDawg! I will find out tonight what is happening and I will ask Sue if you can still get in. You want the Open or Amateur?

I will definitely do my best to keep everyone up to date as best I can. I will be sending Snorks emails via my blackberry as best I can so he may be able to post updates while I am at the event.

Edwin's to give away? Hewitt destroyed him at the Stan James stop last year. Eric H. is world class. And, my dark horse pick, Johnny Morra can play with any of them. I think Edwin is one of the guys that can win, but these other guys have the same chance as Edwin or Tyler.

I'd be looking to go into the open. I'll be there regardless if I get in or not.:D

It should be an awesome event. I'm picking Jason Klatt to win the mens open.

Hey Carey, call Sue or send her an email. There are still spots in the open. Bourada just got a spot today.

PS: Gerry Watson is going to be there! The Ghost would be another possible bet. I hear he is playing well. Should be a great show.

By the way, I saw the tables tonight. They look pretty decent and the rails seem responsive. They all have Simonis 860 cloth too. The pockets are forgiving but not loose.

How many poolrooms are in Ottawa? Is the championship played in a poolroom or at a convention center?

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, if you ever get the chance to go to Canada, the city of Ottawa is not too bad a place to visit. I am assuming that you are a male Kevin ;)

Dave, has done some casual investigative work on the apparent gender imbalance in Ottawa in years gone by

Yes. The odds here are pretty good.

In Ottawa and immediate surrounding area there are about 7 rooms and soon to be 8. There are 3 on the Quebec side, 10 minute drive, one in the east end, one in center town, and soon to be 3 west end.

Not bad pool room to people ration given that we have about 1 million people here. It's no Calgary, but it's what we have.
