Lol, this time I have to go w/no (if true). Why, did you or someone you know play him in Vegas earlier this year?rope_one said:Think he keeps getting to play in the APA?

I think that universally in leagues that if you make a certain amount of cash in any pocket billiards competition you should be exempt from an APA or VNEA type league. If the APA or any other league wants to start a masters division where the players entering know beforehand that they may be competing against champion level players, then who is to say they can't do it? NO ONE!
Personally, if someone is good enough to win a speed pool championship why would they want to go out and beat up on the low level APA leagues? Seems... i don't know... mean... not in the spirit of the game?
I know Bobby and he does play in the APA,, and thats fine he should. I used to play Bobby in north Vernon all the time on the bar box EVEN and it was close. Bobby is a good player but by no means someone who should be kicked out of the APA because he makes balls fast lol. I like Bobby he has a lot of heart!!trustyrusty said:I talked to Bobby tonight; everything stated above (him winning and taking $40K) is true.
As for the game itself....everyone has their right to their opinion, but it is a game, and one that can get you paid if played well. I've seen Bobby do the "8ball" game (solids then 8 ball then stripes, or vice versa) in 40-some seconds in practice on a 9 foot table; whether that's considered "pool" or not, don't know, but it was pretty impressive to see it done.
On the APA thing, I'm not sure about his staus, but it's not like he goes out to Vegas and wins the singles in 8 or 9 ball. He has won singles 9ball in VNEA though. ??? I don't see why he couldn't play in any league he wants to ....
Congrats Bobby!!!!
