Episode 6 is a 14 min video shot on 1/23/11 at 9:50 pm, of Alex Pagulayan attempting the onepocket challenge. Here's a quick summary of the rules.

The players have five turns to break the balls wide open and run as many as they can in one pocket. The total ball count at the end of the five turns is their score. This year it will cost them $50 for two chances (five turns each) or $100 for four chances.

I was walking by the AZB room (the onepocket challenge is held in this room too, during certain times) and poked my head in the door. I saw Alex warming up, so I setup my camcorder. I had no choice but to set it up in the hallway, in the doorway. This room is very small and has 2 tables in it.

In the 1st minute or so, you see Alex practicing, then he breaks open his 1st rack. Right off the bat, he has to shoot a cut combo, which he makes, then shoots the 8 and gets on the 6. On the 6, I really can't figure out what he was trying to do. He shot softly so I think he was trying to hit the 10 and have a shot on the 13. He hooked himself and had to shoot a very off angle 1 ball and missed. Total of that rack - 3.

The 2nd rack, he did well and got into a rough spot when he got froze on the 13. After a "Yeah Baby!", he caroms the 13 off the 2 ball to continue his run. He gets down to the last ball and sets up a perfect bank on it, but misses. Total of that rack - 14. This challenge is tough!

Because I was close to the action and I used my zoom on this video, I am proud to say that this might be the clearest and sharpest pool video clip I have ever seen on the Internet. I love my camera and wished I could be traveling around to all the tournaments shooting video to share with pool fans!:)

Thanks for all the videos Greg. I watched the first couple and the quality is outstanding. I saw you at the derby and I know it was a pain in the ass to lug all that gear from room-to-room but you got some killer footage. I was there for Shane and Scooters match. That was one I wished would have been on TAR, just for the sheer dominance a top player can command over us mere mortals.

Anyway, I'm sure you've heard it a bunch, but one more wouldn't hurt. You're efforts in capturing the "feel" of the Derby are appreciated by at least me, and I'm guessing many others as well.

Thanks but i wish you wouldnt put in who had the high run and what alex would score. Kinda takes a lot of the fun out of it.

You are right! So sharp and clear I can actually identify each ball. Great job there, thanks.

Yeah... I wasn't quite sure about that comment, as the results were known about a month ago. As far as telling what he got for the 2 games, because the video was only 14 mins long, it was obvious it wasn't going to show much of a total score. That was only 2 games out of 5 games and that was only 1 try out of 2 or 4, whichever he paid for. So there is a pretty lengthy time between determining what someone is going to get for a total.

That's the thing about the Derby, there is always so much going on, you don't want to sit in one spot for too long, or you feel you're going to miss something even bigger or better somewhere else.

Greg Sullivan made the comment to me at one point, "If you've seen everything, then I haven't done my job" He wanted people to come away feeling like they missed something because there was so much going on. I can say for me... I felt that way:D

What's everyone got to say about the video, as far as the sharpness and clairty? I got to say, I would watch a ton more video's on the Internet if that were this clear in full screen. I'm a bit of a picky b@stard when it comes to video and audio, and I get a little tired of seeing blotchy videos. To me, it really takes away from the viewing experience.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words... it's nice to know some of you are anticipating the next release. I can only upload 5 gigs a week, so I'm being selective. I have several hour long videos, but one of those would use 50% of my quota in one shot.:)
