That is one heck of a tough draw !

Quoted from another website:

Crucible Champion Ronnie O'Sullivan could play Mark Selby, John Higgins, Judd Trump and Neil Robertson in a possible World Final showdown. Ronnie got a tricky draw as he must beat Shaun Murphy, Barry Hawkins and Ding Junhui for the Final.

Cant wait , bring it on I say ! LOL ! :wink::grin::grin-square::thumbup:

He cannot draw both Neil and Judd, they play eachother earlier on and can only meet Ronnie in the final,
likewise he cannot play both Hawkins and Ding, they also meet eachother before that.

It's looking like:

- Qualifier
- Joe Perry
- Fu/Murphy
- Ding
- Trump/Robertson

Not the easiest draw but at least 2 sort of easy oppenents to start with and warm up.

Before the Newport final Ding had not played O’Sullivan in a ranking-event contest over the best of 17 frames or greater for seven years, a 10-2 loss at the World Championships.

Qualifiers
Only 16 will make it through this battle before the war of attrition starts at the Crucible.

Not only are the now rare, long-format matches in themselves more fascinating to watch, but with Crucible places, main tour places and big money up for the grabs, the pressure and tension out there is on another level to what we see at most other tournaments.

BBC Coverage

One of the biggest pains of this free online stuff is that you don't find BBC coverage very often.

It isn't listed here
http://cricfree.tv/live/index.php

And it isn't listed under the sporting section here
http://www.time4tv.com/#

But there is a section for UK Channels which does list the BBC channels

Apparently the World Championship is on BBC 2
Here is the direct link

And here are the upcoming matches

Presumably, the red button offerings will require exploration of the other sites, with no guarantee of success for finding BBC rather than Eurosport

So lay in a 2 1/2 week supply of peanuts, popcorn and beer and settle in starting Saturday :D

I think Ronnie has an easy draw

of all the guys on my list i see possibly beating him ( Murphy, Higgins, Selby, Trump, Junhui, Robertson) only Murphy might face him in rd 3, and Murphy is currently losing

if Junhui happens to lose, Ronnie will be in the finals easy peazy, and actually Junhui is probably the least likely from my list to beat him since Ronnie has his number and has him mentally

having said that, I guess anything short of making it to the final would be a big choke

His draw isn't bad for sure, but easy? No.
You list 6 players that you feel are the only ones that can beat Ronnie and he
could face 3 of them in the quarter, semi and final. Undoubtledly Ding is the 2nd
favorite in this tourney and they will meet in the semi's. Losing to Ding this season
is no shame at all, even for Ronnie and even in a long race.

Obv. Ronnie is still the big favorite despite all this. He is looking serious, even though
his first match wasn't top form yet but certainly decent.

having watched all 1st round matches thus far, I could swear that Ronni was the ONLY person NOT to look worried one bit at any point

he's also shown more poise I think than I've ever seen, granted though, we'll see how that changes when the competition is stiffer, that Fin has zero chance

I'm expecting a 147 at some point

well Ding is out (never really had the stones despite technical brilliance..best ever technician maybe ) and Murphy is not playing anywhere near the Murphy of old

easy run for Ronnie till the finals

another one and done for Ding, unfortunately for him he aint gonna get any peyton manning treatment, communist party will punish the boy:(
