Maybe he liked his chances better in a shoot-out. Strange indeed. They may have hit the time limit. There is a max time limit of like 140min.

The matches have a time limit.

If the race is not complete when time is up the player in the lead is declared the winner.

If the match is tied they have some sort of shoot out to determine a winner.

I am not exactly sure of the rules , but they shoot a series of shots from the spot in the pic the player who makes the most shots is the winner.

Plus i am pretty sure each player can choose what pocket to shoot at.

Re-watched the end and i think they just lost track of score. Either that or score-counter was wrong. If its tied and they hit the time limit they do a shootout. Ref looked a little confused.

So that non-concession/concession handshake was just the time running out leading to a shoot-out? Makes sense. I guess.

Score was tied 10-10 after that one player missed the 8 ball clock ran out and they went to a shootout lol

These rules change the way the players play when clock is winding down players in the lead milk the shot clock and play defense that they would not normally play lol

And the player that is behind has to try and play fast and aggressive can't play safe like they normally would because time is running out lol

I noticed the ref was sure givin that watch the evil-eye. She knew that one cat was stallin but she played it cool. Good move on her part. She didn't get in the middle of some nitty s^*t and just let em go to the shootout.

They don't d^*k around do they? I was confused as was the op when that dude turned and shook hands. A new pool term: "time milking". Love it. Eklent Kaci must be considered world-class at this move. ;)
