Here are the final match and game records for the 2021 Mosconi Cup.

Scoring the way it counts, by matches:
Day 1 -- USA 2, Europe 2
Day 2 -- USA 3, Europe 2
Day 3 -- USA 0, Europe 5
Day 4 -- USA 1, Europe 2
Total -- 6 - 11 (USA winning percentage of 35%)

Scoring by games rather than matches:
Day 1 -- USA 12, Europe 16
Day 2 -- USA 22, Europe 20
Day 3 -- USA 12, Europe 25
Day 4 -- USA 13, Europe 12
Total -- 59 - 73 (USA winning percentage of 45%)

Match Records of Individual players. For the following records, I counted a full win or loss for each player in each match (i.e., not splitting the point into fifths for the teams match or halves for doubles matches). So these numbers essentially answer the question: "In how many winning and losing matches was each player involved?" [Note: These records show wins and losses, so a record like 1-2 means 1 win and 2 losses, not 1 win out of 2 matches.]

Team USA
• Shane Van Boening ..... 0-4 singles, 1-2 doubles, 1-0 teams, 2-6 total (winning percentage of 25%)
• Skyler Woodward ..... 2-0 singles, 1-3 doubles, 1-0 teams, 4-3 total (57%)
• Tyler Styer ..... 1-0 singles, 1-2 doubles, 1-0 teams, 3-2 total (60%)
• Chris Reinhold ..... 0-1 singles, 1-1 doubles, 1-0 teams, 2-2 total (50%)
• Jeremy Jones ..... 0-1 singles, 0-2 doubles, 1-0 teams, 1-3 total (25%)
Team USA Total ..... 3-6 singles, 4-10 doubles, 5-0 teams, 12-16 total (43%)
Team Europe
• Jayson Shaw ..... 2-1 singles, 3-1 doubles, 0-1 teams, 5-3 total (63%)
• Albin Ouschan ..... 0-1 singles, 1-2 doubles, 0-1 teams, 1-4 total (20%)
• Joshua Filler ..... 2-1 singles, 2-0 doubles, 0-1 teams, 4-2 total (67%)
• Eklent Kaçi ..... 1-0 singles, 1-1 doubles, 0-1 teams, 2-2 total (50%)
• David Alcaide ..... 1-0 singles, 3-0 doubles, 0-1 teams, 4-1 total (80%)
Team Europe Total ..... 6-3 singles, 10-4 doubles, 0-5 teams, 16-12 total (57%)

Another way of looking at the match records is to count a full point for each player in a singles win or loss, half a point for each player in a doubles win or loss, and one-fifth of a point for each player in a team win or loss. So the following numbers essentially answer the question: "What numerical contribution did each player make to the overall Mosconi Cup match scores?"

Team USA
• Van Boening ..... 0.7 - 5.0 (winning percentage of 12%)
• Woodward ..... 2.7 - 1.5 (64%)
• Styer ..... 1.7 - 1.0 (63%)
• Reinhold ..... 0.7 - 1.5 (32%)
• Jones ..... 0.2 - 2.0 (9%)
Team USA Total ..... 6 - 11 (35%)

Team Europe
• Shaw ..... 3.5 - 1.7 (67%)
• Ouschan ..... 0.5 - 2.2 (19%)
• Filler ..... 3.0 - 1.2 (71%)
• Kaçi ..... 1.5 - 0.7 (68%)
• Alcaide ..... 2.5 - 0.2 (93%)
Team Europe Total ..... 11 - 6 (65%)

Game Records of Individual Players. Counting half a point for each player in a doubles win or loss (so the totals will add to 132 games), here are the individual records for games won and lost (including the 7 games played in the teams match):

Team USA
• Van Boening ..... 19.0 - 27.0 (winning percentage of 41%)
• Wooward ..... 16.5 - 15.5 (52%)
• Styer ..... 10.0 - 10.0 (50%)
• Reinhold ..... 6.5 - 10.5 (38%)
• Jones ..... 7.0 - 10.0 (41%)
Team USA Total ..... 59 - 73 (45%)

Team Europe
• Shaw ..... 21.5 - 17.5 (55%)
• Ouschan ..... 10.5 - 11.5 (48%)
• Filler ..... 18.0 - 15.0 (55%)
• Kaçi ..... 9.5 - 8.5 (53%)
• Alcaide ..... 13.5 - 6.5 (68%)
Team Europe Total ..... 73 - 59 (55%)

You’d think they would stop trying to ride SVB when it’s obviously not working. More Woodward and Styer, less SVB.

I guess the people’s vote doesn’t help this when SVB will win that every time.

Next year maybe try a team without SVB and tell the 5 players only 24h beforehand that they are playing. Except Skyler, he's good to go anytime apparently.

Maybe they should give the MVP to the player with the highest percentage wins. Alcaide won 4 of 5 for 80% win while Jason won 5 of 8 for 63% yet Jason got the MVP. If you are given more chances to play you are more likely to accumulate more points which the MVP is based on, I think.

I didn’t watch any of the matches, so I have no feel for the ebb & flow of the sessions.

What happened between day 2 & 3? Wow, just wow. To have it close then get white washed 0-5 on day 3 sure is something else. Either we got real lucky days 1-2 or something happened between day 2 & 3. Which I’ve seen first hand in the past Mcup’s.

There’s always next year(maybe) maybe MR has other ideas. Would have been interesting had Earl not got robbed of his chance. That was a bad beat for him and America.

Thx for the stats, interesting. I know one thing. MAJOR changes need to happen-and that might piss some people off more than the Earl thing. But we can’t have this shit happen again.

Personally I don’t care who gets mad or hurt. Change is necessary, if we want a 20% chance to win. It’s clear we have a bad team for what ever reason. I’m not pointing fingers, but what’s on deck ain’t working. How many years do we have to lose to see that?

Clean slate, start over, rebuild.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

This Mosconi Cup is nothing but a carnival crapshoot that is meant for entertainment purposes ONLY!

Since Earl got sidelined, the next Mosconi Cup in Las Vegas should be Earl ONLY playing them all by himself.

Take Earl to one of those legal pot shops and get him some good shit and then tell him he gets all the money if he wins.

Seriously?? How long are these 'Earl got robbed' posts going to last?? He robbed himself.

the first days were a combination of sky, tyler playing top notch, and a bleak kaci and ouschan playing bad. i heard kaci had stomach problems the first days. the second day ended with reinhold missing a crucial shot. third day started with JJ sending out reinhold to play shaw. from there it went downhill fast.

That was a poor choice,

“Never get beat because of the line-up” Nick Varner said that. Wise words

Maybe I am wrong, but I do not believe JJ "put up Chris against Jason." It looks to me, that each team put up their roster and then the match-up is made public. HOWEVER, I believe it was a master move to put up Chris first because if you look at scheduling restrictions it was only Shane, Chris or JJ that could have gone first and I bet they were thinking USA would put up Shane, that's why they put up Jason for the first slot. Turns out that Shane got to go against Kaci but lost. If Shane had won it would have been a wash with Jason beating Chris, but since USA was ahead 5 to 4 after day 2, USA could have afforded to trade matches for the rest of the tournament and win 11-10. I believe there was an even match up in the doubles on day 3. It just turns out that we got beat 5-0 on day 3 and that's what sucked.

Bottom line is imo it was a great roster on day 3.

Anybody ever ask why the USA has to play in the Mosconi Cup? Why not Asia vs Europe? Now that would be something to watch. J. L. Chang, Dennis, The Ko brothers, Lee Van and anybody China wants to send or maybe include Yap. Now we've got a match instead of a beat down.
