2022 World Cup cloth installation

I did a 1967 Fischer 8ft pool table with no tuck side pockets and glen is right. When you pull the cloth on the side pockets it puts a little radius on the points. I did a good job and the radius is not that noticeable but it is there.
It is a fact on the valley pic I posted. Here is the fun part: on a 5" + pocket on a barbox with a shallow shelf, IMO: who cares at that point?
It clearly would not be acceptable on one of my Brunswick restoration tables or a Diamond install or recover.

P.s. it also is not possible to wrap a side on Brunswick or Diamond commercial tables with out a fold.

If I saw an installation in a bar with Valley tables with a radius on the points... I would make it a point to ask who put the cloth on, fake some compliments of how good it was... then make a mental note to never use that guy myself.

If 100% of your work isn't perfect, you might just make a bad first impression on future customers. 🤷‍♂️

I would not call it a "radius", Folds are actually much easier. I am not too concerned :)

Funny you should say that.....

Valley rails, direct from the factory, all have distorted cushion facings, caused from overstretching the cloth. Even direct from Penguin, the cloth is installed the same (no fold).
Unfortunately enough, once it's done, the contact cement holds the facings in that distorted shape. Truly, the only real way to fix it is to replace the facings (and sometimes, the cushions), or to be the first to install the cloth on a new set of rails. It makes it very difficult for the guy who recovers the table to do a quality job.

It's also unfortunate that you would develop a negative opinion of the installer for something that is out of his control.
