You think? Go look up SVB plays Chinese 8ball. I'm not much of a Heyball follower but various 9b pros have tried it and failed to get there. Tough to beat full timer's at their own game. Since it started in 2015 Appleton is the only part-timer to have won this event.Hardly know any of the names left in the last 32.
SVB, Biado, Gorst, Filler and Kaci would clean up in this tournament.
Chinese players are lucky the big 9 ball players don't enter.

might be the other way around. zheng xiaohuai was fargo #1 for a year or so before covid and his switch to heyball.
but yea, those 5 would be a threat if they dedicated years to it, obviously. they can't just go there. same with snooker players, some of the best snooker players have tried that with poor results.

Filler and Gorst could compete with these guys for sure if they played Joy Heyball and Duya 9 ball full time (Wu does pretty well), but there are so many monster players, and more young ones being added all the time. It would be a very hard road even for Filler, but he could be one of the best if he adapted to the cloth and tables.

Well their $ is good isn't it?The sports arm of the CCP is said to be involved in funding as well. Don't know if that's 100% factual but it pops up whenever Heyball funding comes up. These big showpiece events are often linked to 'state' funding.
To generate this level of prize money, they would need to be selling thousands of tables every week.The money is coming from the company that makes the tables, Joy.
It's pretty clear the money is coming from elsewhere.
