Don't laugh, but I had to share my new high run of 27! I know that's not very impressive, but I'm a C player and I've been working on developing a key ball and a break ball. That's what's been holding me back. I have a bunch of runs of 14, but have never been able to work out a good enough end pattern. On this run, I missed position on my key ball by 1/4" and if I had made it, those two were in perfect position for me, so I'm going to call it not a fluke. I just recently started playing 14.1, and it has brought a new level of excitement to my game. I have a table in my basement because the nearest pool room is an hour or so away, so playing the ghost in 9/10 ball and Fargo had gotten old really quick. I've found that 14.1 is a good way to play against myself and it be a "real" game. Now, back to the table...

Great job man, you got to start somewhere. I started playing straight pool a couple years ago for the same reason. I lived in a city where there weren't any good rooms to play in and had an 8 foot brunswick in my basement. I mostly played by myself and either setting up drills or trying to break and run out gets old real quick. I started playing straight pool and had a goal of improving my high run every time I got to the table. I was (and still am) able to stay more motivated with this game because it can really turn into a game of solitary and is easy to play alone. I'm not a hundred ball runner by any means but this game has improved all aspects of my play in just a couple years time. I'm sure a 30 is just around the corner for you.
