I just bought a new custom cue butt with 3/8 x 10 pin made to match up to my custom old growth maple shafts. Now the shafts seem to
fit looser on this pin when I am tightening them down but nice and tight on my older cue which is a McDermott D-2

My question is are there multiple different thread thickness available on pins?

Thank you for your time

Yes. There's small variations in the minor diameter and then you have the 3/8-10 flat bottom pin with a .308" minor.
As always pictures always helps.

A loose fit on the pin isn't a problem. Many will try to convince you it is, but a cue doesn't need to be tight on the pin, it just needs to be tight on the joint face.

Yes there are several different tightness in Joint screws.
Thank you Chris--I thought so--Can a Pin thread measured properly to correct this issue and replaced if needed or do I have to live with this ?

If this is wood threads and you have a local cue repairman they could tighten the threads up by coating the threads with CA glue.
