Hi!

I'm looking to get weight bolts in different lengths particularly 1/4 up to 2" in increments of 1/4". Any leads to where I can get them would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking to get a whole lot just maybe. 2-3 per size. If you have some that you dont need and willing to sell it please let me know.

Thanks!
Chris

Your local nut and bolt supply warehouse, at least that is where I went and got mine. If nothing local you can always buy from Grainger, McMaster Carr, Fastenal, etc.... sometimes even Lowes and Home Depot.

I tried Home Depot and lowes with no luck. I'm thinking someone's hoarding in my area. Lol. Going the online route and see what I can find any. Thanks!

I have a supplier local to me that supplies all the industrial plants around my area, they are an actual nut and bolt warehouse and other than some small hand tools, that is pretty much all they sell is nuts and bolts. I took my digital scales with me and weighed allen head bolts on their counter until I got the length/weight that I was wanting, and I did just as you are wanting to, I bought 5-6 in each length/weight so I could make adjustments to any cue I had or was working on.

I get all of my weight bolts/set screws from Enco. Their imported set screws I have found the be the most economical.
It takes 2.5" of 3/8-16 set screws to equal 1 oz. I have a few 3/8" long but I usually keep a supply of 5/8" long ones as each one is 1/5 oz.

At Enco these come out to less than .10 each which is less than 1/4 of what hardware stores charge.

Thanks to all those that pm's and contributed to the thread. I'm checking out ACE hardware when I get of work to check.

Dick,

Thanks for the info. Will definitely check it out if I don't find anything local. I should save at least $10 on shipping and I only need a few. Regardless, great information and thanks for the heads up!

Cheers!

I have Industrial bolt here in Ventura. Big box stores have horrible fastener prices. The only place worse is West Marine....

West Marine thinks everyone who owns a boat should be punished.....:D

Or they promote the following:

A boat is a hole in the water you pour money into!

If those are what you need then great, but they are not set screws. Set screws are headless.

I don't believe they are drilled and taped for 8-32 screw to hold bumper . CT has the with the set screw . They don't charge extra for the set screws , like most others . Jim

Sorry for the confusion. This is what came with the cue and I asked my cue maker and told me to get a bunch of 3/8x16 "set screws" so I assumed they were the same. My bad.

I brought that same weight bolt to my local ace and have me several different bolts in different lengths.

Now, my question is do they serve the same purpose? That is to add weight to the cue, correct? And the only advantage to getting a set screw is that you can stack them and adjust accordingly?

Best,
Chris

Correct. I think those are flat allen head capscrews or flat socket head capscrews.

You got the head (flat) and the drive correct (allen or socket, hard to tell for sure), but they fall under the category of machine screws, not capscrews.
