New Benders just posted and the points are awesome http://www.indyq.com/custom/bender/index.html.

There are also new Cog's that are going to be posted as well making me wish I had some money to play with.

I have dealt with Roy and I have been extremely pleased.
Thanks!

Roy E Malott Is The Most Unpleasant Person I Have Ever Dealt With, Or For That Matter, Even Picked Up The Phone To Speak With.

Since I Repulsively Objected To Buying Anything From Him, I Have No Comments About His Business Dealings But Personally, I Will Get My Stuff From Any Other Dealer But Him.

I'm not sure if he's unpleasant, but I can say he's a slimy cue dealer and I'd never deal with him either, but slimy doesn't always mean unpleasant.

I asked him a bunch of questions because 3 friends, all in different countries wanted me to get stuff for them. So naturally I had to ask him quite a few questions because there's shipping involved, and I want to find the best prices for my friends. And I also asked him about the free break cue that he was giving away with his Whitten cases and he completely snapped on me, saying that I was beating him up with my questions, grilling him, and that he just felt really "abused" by our conversation. I think he thought that I was a dealer but even before the conversation I said that a friend of his actually recommended me to him, and I even gave him the name of this friend.

Then during the same conversation was a time he was telling me how great of a cue equipment dealer he was and for a while, I just politely agreed but when I said that he wasn't the only Whitten case dealer around, he went off on me again. This time he was really crude and rude, and even used swear words. I felt that as a consumer I was entitled to the ignorance of the intricacies of the industry and I don't really care who was, is, or is no longer a dealer of Whitten cases, and I wouldn't mind taking the education from Roy, but he did it in such an insulting manner that I was extremely disgusted with him.

About a week later, he called me again cos I had left some messages on his phone prior to our converation and he was returning them. He had no idea who I was until I said that we had already spoke and that he had said such and such....and then, once again, he said that he still feels "abused" by our conversation. I completely cannot comprehend the man so I hung up.

I felt that I treated him in the most polite way that I could muster but I was hardly treated as a valued customer.

For a while, I wanted to post this on the AZ forum but I felt that would have been kinda mean, so I declined to do so. But I am still going to state my opinion whenever people talk about dealing with Roy.

I was wondering for a while why there were pictures of a bikini clad lady advertising his stuff for sale.

I have dealt with Roy on a couple of diffferent occasions. He came off as a pompass ass. I wouldn't buy a cube of chalk from this guy.

Indy Q is a little different

I too, have had dealings with Uncle Roy. My friend and I stopped in and talked with Roy. He is a little different but he maintains his constant whatever he has is great and whatever you have is junk. I typically ignore him like the strange uncle at the wedding.

He told us that he had a Schick cue coming in and had some pictures of it. He said he would be willing to sell for price X. He said he would call us when it got there, as we are a considerable amount of distance out of town. When it got in, Roy called us and my friend when there to pick it up for me. When he got there the cue was there, but now at X+$50. My friend bought it and brought it to me, and related the story. If I had been there I would have told Roy to shove it up his ass, but my friend paid for it and I paid him in full.

I too, have had my last dealings with Roy. The other classy thing he has done is list Southwest cues on Ebay with no reserve and then close the auction early.

Too many cues out there to deal with this shit.

Regards
Ken

Ken as I am completely IGNORANT about E-bay, and only both two items off it, and pro billy will NEVER BUY ANYTHING off e-bay again.

Explain in Laymen's terms what are the ramifications of listing, “ no reserve and then close the auction early”

Thanks

Bruce -

In a no reserve auction, the item sells no matter what the amount. No reserve auctions usually get more activity but do not necessary get to the desired amount, I see them start at 1.00 and the let them go. Roy's tactic is to list as non-reserve and if it doesnt reach desired amount the close the auction. It has a link to his web-site, so he gets alot of hits to the website and doesnt sell the cue. A real class act.

Thanks for the reply, but I assume Roy has to pay E-bay a small listing fee to use E-bay as an Advertising Vechicle for his business.

Think that is Dirty Pool.....

Indy Q

I too have had a bad experience dealing with Roy. When I was talking to him about a Bender cue he was very pleasant and seemed very helpful with information.

When it came time to buy a cue from him it was like his true colors came out. He was offering a free jump break cue and shipping with the Bender I was looking at. I told him to keep the jump break cue and that I wanted next day air shipping instead.

His asking price for the cue was $ 2,100.00 which included the break jump cue and shipping. I offered him $ 2,000.00 for the cue, he keep the jump break cue and I wanted next day air.

He went on and on about how he wasn't making any money and how I was breaking his balls on this deal.

To say the least I did not buy the cue from him, and I'm happy to see the assho-- still has the cue on his web site.

I would never deal with him. He is a jerk.

I ended up buying a Bender from Erik Lee. Totally a pleasure to deal with.

Well if he is truely making NO MONEY, I would tell him Wal-Mart is always looking for Cart Pushers. You get a Check Every Friday....:D

Think he should have just said he could not do the deal, or counter offered. :p
