I took a 6 month break from AZ. Decided with my heart condition, i didnt need all the crap that was going on here. Just didnt need the agrivation. Oh well....thats past. Now moving on.

In the last several months i discovered many things. Some of which, i cant even explain properly. After a little while of improvement, things just came to a standstill. I was playing ok, but not advancing. Thats when i took a vow to do what has been preached here on AZ. PLAY EVERY DAY FOR 30 DAYS! Without exceptions. Every day.

Thats what i did. Every day. Even if i didnt feel like it (after 12 hour shifts). Even if my mind was cluttered. Even if i only could play for 10 or 15 minutes.

Heres what happened. I believe i went up a skill level. I think i can hang with the "A" player now (B+ at least). My cue feels different to me as compaired to 30 days ago. It is obvious my stroke has improved considerably. I'm making cut shots consistently that I had trouble with before. A few days ago I played 8 games of 8 ball, and table run 4 of them (all after dry, but really nice breaks). The other 4 were one inning. Some of the better pool I've played in my life.

One example of something I discovered......when shooting long shots, use a long bridge and grip the butt all the way to the end. Sometimes my pinky finger hangs over the butt cap. Its an amazing feeling the cue gives you when you grip to the rear. The longer sight radius you see does wonders for your accuracy. There might be other factors involved with the longer bridge, such as the longer pivot point on a 314 2 shaft, but whatever the reason, it works. The long bridge obviously requires a refined stroke. Will add more when I can figure out how to explain the perceptions I have aquired or experienced.

Play every day....for 30 days....no matter what. I can almost guarantee you an increase of one skill level. I think I shall go for 60! Only 27 to go!

Well I'm glad you're back on the AZ wagon! ;)

I think that 30 days (+3) straight is a great feat...I'm betting some of those days were tough ones! Awesome job!!! :)

Easier that i have my own table. Been a S.O.B. if I didn't. A few of those days after 12 hour shifts were tough. Had to force myself. But it was worth it. No more slacking!
