Maybe...but it's interesting to note that Nick Varner (about your height, I think) plays with a 57 inch cue. Most of the advantage of a longer cue length seems to benefit taller players or players with longer arms...it fits their frame better for a smooth, straight stroke. I also believe that the thinner, longer cues of today may be a little better for today's equipment...but who knows? I think the extra inch or two doesn't help your reach, getting proficient with a bridge does.
I went to a 60 inch cue years ago, and never looked back...but I'm 6'3" and the standard length cue kind of crowded my stroke.
