30+ Years... you asked for it...

Now a Pro Tour that has already spent MILLIONS in Venues and payouts has come the 'pool scene' and answered poll players prayers for a HUGE tour with LOTS of money.

12 months ago, lots of us were still wishing for this DREAM to come true and couldn't believe that there was even a gnat's ass of a chance that it was possible.

Well, the DREAM came true and now there are opinions that it's a NIGHTMARE.

Wonder why the players aren't LOUDLY complaining? They still believe there is a chance this DREAM is a REALITY and will support it until proven otherwise.

When the players are paid, and Ho takes over the IPT, and the Chicago EVENT is "ON" and so is the KOH and 200+ Q for the 2007 tour card, what will these people that do all the complaining, complain about?

Will they complain about;

Players having to pay $10,000 a year in flights and hotel rooms in Asia and Europe to earn $100,000?

Having to earn the right to compete on the IPT by shelling out $5000 for a qualifier?

One thing is very consistant with the pool world in the USA... complaints. Nothing will every be 100%

Some things will never change.

I'll be in Chicago and Vegas this year. Hope to see you there also.

Are you going to a Bear's game or something?

One thing is clear: The "complainers" and "Prophets of Doom" provide detailed, well thought out rationales for their opinions on why the IPT is folding. The Pollyanna-sunshine-and-songbirds crowd simply attack the strawman of "negativity", and try to sell the ideas of "hope" and "faith" and "positive thinking".

It's clear to see where KT gets customers for his miracle cure twaddle.

It's not just pool... it's every sport and every profession....

Nascar fans complain about everything from the rules to the car owners and everything inbetween.

Football fans complain about everything from the rules to the team owners and everything inbetween.

Baseball fans... ever been to a game where no one, not once questioned or disliked an umpires call?

You can't name a sport where people don't complain. I've never had a job where some of the employee's didn't complain.

The players simply are not going to rock the boat in hopes that they do end up getting paid. Some players are "ok" with what's going on... others are livid, yet silent... hoping that they get paid.

Detailed, well thoughtout rationale for Opinions (positive or negative) has never been a problem.

Your comments seem to be directed to other areas.

What is your dream?

I agree, but it seems pool fans/players live on this daily whinning, like it is suppose to be part of a pool players charactor

I also know a lot of IPT members. I've not heard one IPT member slam IPT publically or privately. Your IPT collective may be LIVID, but that doesn't speak for the majority.

I'm just saying.. "Here it is, what we've been wishing for for 30+ years" very few people on this forum are willing to focus on what can/is really happen in the next few months/years to the world of Pool.

Hmmm....sounds like complaining is quite a participation sport itself....I wonder if we could start a complainers' tour and make some money off it.....

"it seems pool fans/players live on this daily whinning, like it is suppose to be part of a pool players charactor"
LOL, believe me... I know. I've said it before and I'll say it again... a pool player is never happy... there will always be something wrong with the equip, atmosphere, you name it. ;) BUT, this isn't limited to the pool world by any means. I spent 12 yrs in logistics dealing with truck drivers. People have this stereotypical image of truck drivers... big, gruff, (some) tough guys.... LMAO, they're the biggest group of prima donna cry babies I've ever encountered. If people really knew how a lot of those guys act... LOLOLOLOL

The IPT members that are livid are in the minority... I don't know the majority of members. I would venture a guess that I might know a 1/4 of the members and the majority of the ones that I know are willing to be quiet and patient because they don't want to rock the boat. Just as the ones that are angry are not willing to say anything.

This is all they have and they desperately want this to work. What you know, but a lot of people on here don't know, is that pool is a very, very small world. These guys can't pick and choose tours that will pay enough to support themselves and a family unlike those of us that work "regular" jobs... When I was job hunting, the possibilities of finding a job that will support me were almost endless in the sense that there are numerous professions and numerous employers in those professions. Not so with pool. The IPT is all they have when it comes to life changing money and I don't blame them one sec for hoping against all hope that this works out.

My point and many of the IPT players I know share this. Why not spend the energy saved from trashing/smashing/bad mouthing the IPT in other ways that aren't so negative?

The IPT is currently the only chance Pool has to elevating itself into a Professional SPORT.

Unfortunately for a lot of us old timers, we've lost our opportunity to join the best thing that has happened to pool in 30+ years.

"When the players are paid. When Ho takes over. When Chicago is 'on'." Sure a lot of "ifs" there Tom.

What about when the Moon turns blue. You forgot that one.

Unfortunately for a lot of us old timers, we've lost our opportunity to join the best thing that has happened to pool in 30+ years.

Quite simply it has no product, no audience, no source of income to ever remotely get it in the black. The money paid out to date was just seed money that is now gone, no real financially dependable substance, what else is there to think? Add to that everything they say is suspect, much that is just out and out lies.

Do you believe they have sold millions, (that's millions with an S) of DVD's to date generating more then a $100,000,000? KT says so, so where is the money to pay the players, how about their profit sharing he promised? His lies are so huge and blatant, how do you get past that? Hay, I can appreciate desperate people living on hope, you find them at any casino or track in the world.

This whole thing is a farce, in the beginning he funneled money from a business that at the time was churning a lot of cash into the IPT and now it is time to pay the piper, you can only float so long and the borrow from Peter to pay Paul just gets you in deeper till it hits the fan.

I guess I don't believe in prayer and if I was a member of the IPT I would be asking questions. I would not expect to get any answers though since Deno has said he doesn't know what is going on.

Either way, when we see each other I plan on shaking your hand. I've always enjoyed your posts. You are truely one of pool's better charactors.

You are a little late Tom the time for that is long past.

The good times are gone.

Now it is time to face reality. Afterall, KT has.
