i was just wondering what is the smallest your can turn down a 314 2 without doing any damage to the shaft?

Predator will void the warranty if 314-2 is turned down below 12.25mm & Z-2 is turned down below 11.40mm.

Not enough to make it worth while. About the only thing practicable is to extend the taper farther back.

You see, these cues have a big hole drilled in from the tip end. This leaves only 1.5-2.0 mm of wood around the outside to deal with all the forces encountered in use. The hole is plugged with a tennon and surrounded with a ferrule and capped with a tip.
