314-2

i don't know if i still have one, i've got it from a dealer here, i think the ferrule is called titan, if i remember correctly atlas sells titan rods as well

I just got off the phone with them. They will not sale any to Cue repair
people. And I was told by Predator if you have the tip replaced it can void
your Warranty. Unless they did it! So if you like Wizard tips and have one
put on Your Warranty is Void.

Were can I get 314-2 ferrules at? How Much? Thanks Mike

This is not the predator ferrule material but I have used Juma ferrule material to machine a replacement ferrule for my own predator shaft and it played just as well as it did before.

This shaft that I mentioned was from a used cue I picked up and the original owner let the tip get so low that they started mushrooming the ferrule and it cracked, I was lucky that the thin walled tennon was not damaged.

I have a couple predator partial shafts that I have matched up to match my playing cue and they are around 17 years old and I break with them and they have never had any problems but I do not let my tip get too worn down either.

I have tried the Titan also but I liked the Juma better.

OK, let's see if we can nip this in the bud before it slips any further into the abyss of mis-information.
Atlas doesn't sell Titan rod, only tube. Predator ferrules are capped.

I asked if you had called Predator, thinking that you would, so you could get the info straight from the horse's mouth. You did.
Anyone replacing a ferrule on a Predator shaft who is not a member of the Predator Repair Network, will void the warranty of that shaft.
That stipulation is not uncommon. Any work performed on a Schon cue by anyone other than Schon will void the cue's warranty. It's pretty simple and there's a reason for it.

There are a few of us that frequent this forum who are part of the Network.
I personally take great pride in the fact that my work for Seyberts has won us that credential.

Now let's address the matter of tip replacement.
I'd suggest that you read the Predator warranty in it's entirety.

You are perfectly welcome to have your tip replaced by any qualified cue repair person of your choosing. In fact, you can even have a Wizard tip installed and it will not void your warranty.
The only exception that I'm aware of is that, in the process of replacing a tip, damage is incurred to the ferrule or any other part of the shaft, that damage will not be covered.

I wasn't trying to mislead you. I wanted you to have accurate info right from the source and not through hearsay. There's more than enough of that going around already. The fact is that now you know and anyone reading this will be informed as well.

Thanks, for check up on me, KJ. I was just relating what Predator told
me on the phone. If there is any miss info it was given by Predator.
After seeing ferrule only glued on with what looks like wood glue. I will
be telling my friends and customers to buy OB shafts. Thanks Mike

P.S. Doing Cue repair since 1993.

See, that's what I was trying to tell you about hearsay.
The written word takes presidence over word of mouth.
Predator, OB, doesn't make any difference to me. I still get paid the same.
One of the advantages of the free enterprise system is that ultimately, people will decide for themselves what they want to buy.
The thing is though, you're probably not going to be able to work on OB ferrules either. You might have to send it in to them also.

You have 5 predator ferrules? from the 314/2 generation?

KJ, that's a great post, thanks for the information :)
