Does anyone know what version of the 314 had a little longer ferrule. I have 2 older versions with custom ring work so there are no markings.

One has 5/8 inch ferrule, the other is over 3/4. The one with the longer one I initially bought at least 20 years ago, don't remember from where.

Question is, where the initial release's ferrules substantially longer than versions 2 and 3?

From what I read the deflection properties changed quite a bit between versions, at least that's what predator says.

Pretty sure ferrule lengths decreased with the generation. I have a 314 first gen and ferrule is longer than my 314-2. The second gen is longer than my 314-3. I honestly prefer the play of the 314-2 but I stayed with that version the longest.
