jjinfla said:You are forgetting one thing. KT is paying out all the money he has in installments of 11% each.
Now if half the players don't cash the checks then that money will still be in the account when bankruptcy is filed (the checks will be void at that time) and the court may dole that out equally to all the players. If that happens then the players who have cashed the checks could possibly end up getting more than 33%.
It is time to end this nonsense. Cash the checks. Hope more will arrive. Promise to be more careful in the future with business dealings and go on with your life.
Just pretend that this tournament was only for $1,000,000 instead of $3,000,000. You would all still have played in it wouldn't you?
Did I just say "only" a million dollars?
Yep, the players would have played. Just look at how the women all want to play in the WPBA tournaments. They are for only $100,000. They seem to get a full field every time. They also pony up $500 for the honor of donating their money to Allison. Now there is a champion. Intelligent, charming, beautiful, and very skillful at her art.
As far as that "smart" advice of writing something on the check the next time you receive a check from someone for anything do you think it would make any difference to anyone if you would write something on it? Like this is partial payment of a $10,000 debt? Complete nonsense.
It does not matter what the receiver of the check writes on it all that matters is what the sender of the check writes on it.
Now if a receiver writes something on the face of the check that might be interpreted as being written by the sender then he just might be committing a fraud. Sorta like changing a one hundred to seven hundred.
The memo section is there for the writer of the check to remind him what the check if for. On the back the receiver of the check can write under his signature, "for deposit only in acct..."
I hope none of you want to commit fraud. so, before you write anything on the check stop in at your local bank and see what they tell you. I think that the only one who can write on the face of a check is the originator of the check. I know that I sure would not write anything on the face of the check.

Bigbro66 said:KT is committing to 3 X 11 percent payments, interestingly the exact same amount he was trying to get away paying when players were called.
Then he says he will eventually pay the lot but in installments.
why not installments of 15% or 20% ?
Because he only intends to pay the 33% !
TheOne said:Yep he couldn't have made it more obvious, this guy is a fool.
If he intended to pay the whole amount he would have simply have paid 10x10% instead of 9 x 11%, it really is laughable if it wasn't so true.

Snapshot9 said:Jake ... You need to pay attention. What was advocated for the receiver of the check to write is wrtten ON THE BACK of the check along with their signature. I got an 'A' in Business law in college. What did you get?
(and my brother is a 39 year practicing attorney).
jjinfla said:So what really is important is what your brother might say since he has the legal background. Did he say that what is written on the back has relevance?
How about if the next time a pool player writes a check to a female TD and the female TD writes on the back "Alimony Payment". Would that have any relevance?
A college is a watered down version of a University. But you knew that.

He may think the pressure is off but the players union is still forming. "First time shame on you, second time shame on me".... they're following through with protecting themselves as best as they can in this horrific situation the IPT has put them in.ironman said:The pressure is off and he can do whatever he wants.
