Thanks for the compliments Steve. I felt reasonably good about the 39 but it wasn't as clean as could be. My cue ball control is still developing and as such prone to mistakes (like the position I created on three ball break shot, didn't want to shoot that one in the side!)...I made a few in there the biggest one being missing the four ball of the rail and sending myself way upstairs. I also think mentally I didn't really focus enough on the tough five as when I look back I played no good position. I feel more proud of my overall ball counts during practice as I haven't played much better before. I feel like I am improving. Now if I could just connect those few misses I may get 70 or 80! Although none of the practice runs really matter, the runs under pressure count for much more...
The combo you mentioned looked good on camera but they weren't touching and I felt like it was 'almost' dead. In one of his videos Jim Rempe said "Don't shoot balls that are ALMOST dead". Anyway I did feel like I did a better job making sure I had insurance when I went into balls. And I slowed down and made a plan near the end of the racks which I've been trying to improve on, really enjoyed watching the TH 152 and out a few times since it was posted and paid attention to his pace, when to fire away and when to pause and plan (he makes it look so easy).
Thanks to everyone here for all the other posts, videos and all around enthusiasm for this challenging game.
