It will be used in a VNEA league and in one local tournament I've played in that requires that you " Patch " the intended pocket for the 8 ball , yes Sheldon it's a royal pain but there's some folks that can only win a game if someone forgets to patch the pocket !

There isn't a nine ball league anywhere that I know of in Montana , there used to be a few tournaments but they did require a marked pocket for the 9 ball .
If all else fails a person could use it like a coin flipped to see which game to play between 8 and or 9 ball .
