Four years ago, I was asked to coach a $40,000.00 one pocket match. It was a five ahead match. I was offered $1,000.00 to coach one of the players.

Originally, I wrote the story on AZ Billiards in 3 parts because the story was so long. There is a limit to the number of words that you can put in a post. Also, it seemed that the end of the story (part 3) was being read before the beginning of the story. It was about 4 typewritten pages long.

The person who came in second in this two man event, recently asked me for the story because he couldn't find it on AZB. If you want to read the story in its chronological order YOU CAN READ IT BY CLICKING HERE.

thanks for posting

Pad that post count Joey.

I mean there is no reason to just PM the ONE person who asked you for the info. Start a new thread, seems far more logical.

How big are the pockets on the 1st diamond where you turn into the side room? The 9ft table right next to the diamond 7ft table.

I played there briefly once for the first time a few months ago.

I never saw the original post(s), but just went to the blog and read the story.

It was a fun read and I'm glad a new thread was created to bring attention to it.

Good read, however

Joey,
Good read brother. I'm an Army vet and really enjoyed your blog about returning military id tags.

I think that one is 4 1/4".

The BEAST TABLE is about 3 3/4" but I will have to measure it again to be sure.

Yeah I saw that one. If I remember right the cloth was a different color. Its right near the tv's.

Mikey,
I'm glad you enjoyed it and had fun reading the story.

Some people get it and some just don't. :embarrassed2:

Great story, thanks for sharing! I'm glad it was over in 5 first games

Neither player was fast enough for my taste and I play rather methodically, some even say on the slow side.:D

Coaching a match extends the time of games 100% or more, imo.
If the skill level of the player is a C level it can move the amount of time up 200%.

You're welcome AlexandruM.

Glad you enjoyed them. I don't always have time to write about my adventures but I too enjoy sharing them with people who like them.
