IMHO the best person ever hold a cue stick in his hands ,, I don't think people realize the talent this guy has the only one who beats Ronnie is Himself ,, when guys slow play him his head gets ready to explode ,,
It's funny his sanctuary like Earls is running , go figure

Yeah, Ronnie is certainly the greatest to ever pick up the cue. It makes me so happy to see him win this, because to me it means as long as he wants it, he can keep playing at a high level.

And it sounds like he had taken 8 months off before this event and wasn't pleased with his play until the finals.

The interview after the semi final was quite hilarious. Ronnie was absolutely slating his own game saying he had no touch, he felt like his cue wasn't part of his body and he was questioning whether it was down to a back injury he has suffered that possibly threw his alignment out.

From what I saw, he was going about 6" long on safety shots... The odd safety shot went a foot long but if that's him losing his touch then I want some of his touch. He was still excellent in and amongst the balls. Bingham is no slouch, he's the defending world champ and Ronnie rolled over him playing very poor by his standards. It must suck when you can beat anyone on the earth when you've lost your touch lol.

Hawkins in the final didn't do much wrong. Against anyone else he would've pushed them all night long but Ronnie just played well in the final. When he plays well, nobody has a gear high enough to keep up... And when Ronnie hits top gear (which I haven't seen for a couple of years) its just a pleasure to spectate.

One thing I was really please to see was how he dealt with the safety battles in the final. He opted for safety where a few years back he would've taken a tough pot and risked losing the frame because of that 1 shot. He has matured and was out for the win. Well played.

How old was Hendry when he won his last major title? Davis?
 
The commentators kept harping on Ronnie's time off.
But he was playing in Legends tournaments, made a 147 at local club where he was the star attraction for the evening, played exhibition matches on the Continent, and showed up for the Championship League Group One a week earlier where he won all his matches.

Winning the Masters was probably less impressive than John Higgins winning the World Championship after being suspended for six months (for not reporting the News of the World attempted match fixing sting).
Higgins said that he didn't touch a cue for the six months.

He was 35 when he won the Malta Cup in 2004. His last Final was in 2006 at age 37. His last major (world's, Masters, UK) was the World championship in 1999.

Davis won his last ranking event was in 1997 at 39 and his last major was the Masters in 1997 also at 39 years old. His last final was the 2005 Uk Championship final when he last to Ding at 47 years of age.

Steve was competitive for quite a while, but unlike Ronnie he wasn't the favorite whenever he played.

I'm not sure how you determine what is a major title, but according to Wiki Davis won the Masters in 1997, the Welsh Open in 1995 (and 1994) and the British Championship in 1993. He was born in 1957, so around 40 for the Masters (I didn't look at the dates during the year). He also is listed as winning a few more events, such as the China Open (1997) and Red Bull Challenge (1998), but I don't know what those are.

Again according to Wiki, Hendry won the Malta Cup in 2005, the Premier League in 2004 and the British Open in 2003. He was born in 1969, so he would have been around 36 at the oldest.
