4th Central PA BARBOX OPEN - NOV. 16-18, 2012

Stottlemyer a pro so I don't think he's going to win, shouldn't be able to shoot, I was shooting at club med last week and guys there said they wouldnt play it he's allowed to play

Brett should not be allowed to play. I doubt Wade will allow it, two years ago Shane winters and Dave Grau cleaned house pretty good and they Havnt been back since. There are definetly strong shooters at the tournament but Wade is pretty good about the no pro/pro caliber players allowed.

:scratchhead:

Oh...people at Club Med are just scared. I can't remember anyone from Club Med going anyway.

Dave Daya is a better player than Brett and he's allowed to play.

I've never seen brett shoot , but if he's good enough to have sponsors and shoot at the open, dave doesn't have that and I've seen him shoot a lot, and loss, plus him and wade are good friends , my money is on shane mauro

Shane plays well, rich Nace, Eric Heiland, Jason cochenoer, ace aughtry, Anthony long was there last year, Dan madden. A lot of good shooters but no legit pros just strong players. There's always a fine line between pro and amatuer. It is weird Wade calls it an "open" but then has amateur only.

He's a question, what makes one a pro, or I hear semi pro. Probably the wrong place for this question, but we are on the topic. I have a couple of those guys shoot and they are not pros, but are great shooters, Jason won this tournament the first one , but there wasn't as many shooters as there is now.

Everyone has a different view on that. Allen Hopkins for his expo uses like 6 tournaments and if you finish top 16 in any of those you may not play in his amateur tournament. I think wade does a great job justifying who can and cannot play. I play in some pro am tournaments in Philly and almost none of those players that do well there will be allowed at the bar box open.

Semi-Pros and Pros

It would be great to see players like Brett Stottlemeyer at this tournament. When Dave Grau and Shane Winters played two years ago it was very enjoyable to play them and also watch. I love playing players at that level but the problem with allowing great players like those above at this tournament, is that you will lose a lot of the field due to the caliber of play. I am definitely not one to complain about pro or semi-pro players playing in a tournament with amateurs, but the majority will complain. Wade is not going to risk a loss of a field of players at this size by allowing a few semi-pro players into his tournament. Especially when next year the tournament is moving to a larger room in the Genetti that will possibly double the amount of tables and add at least 30% more players to next years field. That is a lot of players and a lot of money in the pot!

IMO bring in the best!

I know I will only become a better player by playing better players.

In position with the Barbox Open....

I expect Wade will not let any consistent semi-pro, pro caliber players compete. End of Story.

Except Dave Daya, and thats a big exception in my opinion.

Maybe there should be a list of players that aren't allowed to play.:crying:

This is why I choose to not win tournaments. I'm always invited to come back.

Everyone is just lucky though...this year, I have a wedding to go to so I can't make Williamsport or Waynesburg. But I will be at the Good Friday Tournament in York. :woot:

Last year Brett, Mike Davis, and Mike Wong was there. Don't be scared though, Only Brett did good....

I'd be curious to know what players are confirmed going to be there. I'd say I know of 10-12 very strong players that I've talked to and are entered. Any chance patso could get ahold of a list and let us know some top guys coming.

Lee--- can't hurt to just give wade a call and ask either about playing.

Daya is allowed based on the fact he has never cashed in this tournament every year he played and he has a bad back. This type of tournament can be unpredictable based on the number of players in the field this year.

I will get you guys a list by tomorrow.

Missing Daya from your list lol, He cashed last year in the 9 ball not high I don't think but still cashed. Should be a great tournament, still spots open last time I talked to Wade.
