Is it okay to use a flat faced 5/16 x 14 shaft on a butt with a piloted joint? Reason why I ask is because I have an It's George cue that has a very narrow piloted joint, and also a Richard Black that seems to have a normal sized piloted joint. The It's George Shaft obviously fits my Black as well as my friends Shon, but can't accept any other 5/16 X 14 Piloted jointed shaft because the pilot hole is too narrow.

What I want to do is try out the OB Classic LD shaft, but it would be nice if I could get one 5/16 X 14 shaft that fits both my It's George and Richard Black. Sounds like a flat faced 5/16 X 14 might be the ticket.

I have a cue that has a 5/16x14 flat faced ivory joint and 2 cues that have 5/16x14 piloted joints and I have a couple of flat faced 5/16x14 shafts that I use on both the flat faced joint and the piloted jointed cues. I don't see a problem using a flat faced shaft on a piloted jointed cue......
