On my way to pick up some dish soap, I stopped at a thrift store and walked out with Bootsy Collins on vinyl and a nice sneaky pete. The shaft has a nice darker color, and a first for me, tiger maple along the grain and birdseye against the grain. Some nice sugar streaks, 13.25mm to .87 so there is a fair amount of meat, no collar, just a flat face 5/16x18 pilot. I can't wait to get to the hall later tonight to try it out. Anyway, just wanted to share, 5oz is the heaviest shaft I've come across. I've had two 4.7oz shafts, one with a 5/16 x 14 pilot, the other is 3/8x10.
