The 5 cues look great.masonh said:here is 5 of the 8 i am doing now for a few guys here.you should be able to figure out which is yours.the one one the right is not mine.
There are some interesting patterns in the handles of the cues.masonh said:it is a Davis.Alex Brick is making it.i will post pics when they are done.all the hanldes except one Purpleheart are salvaged Old Growth Sugar maple.i ordered a bunch of it several months ago and 2-3 didn't amke it into shaft quality wood,so i figured they would make awesome handles.
masonh said:it is ivory SW style ringwork on both.i used a collet that was too small on 5 and had to cut the rings a little to get the cue out of the lathe.the ringwork in 3 and 5 is the same, but the buckhorn join in 5 is smaller and there will be a small buckhorn collar on the shaft as well.
the woods are from left to right
Nicaraguan Cocobolo with Birdseye handle
Birdsyeye Maple with Curly Koa handle
Macassar Ebony with Quilted maple handle
Cambodian Rosweood with African Olivewood handle
Gaboon Ebony with Quilted Sapele handle
i also have 3 sneakies going in this batch, but i haven't done anything except cut them so far.
most of the woods are extremely figured, but you won't be able to really see them until finished.
