5 Hour Energy Drink

Well, i'll take one for the team. I would have gone to rite aid today to get it but it was so hot and then it started raining. I'll go get it tomorrow morning and try it out before going to the park for handball (last time i played was wednesday and i just fully stopped hurting today... so this should be a great test of how good this energy shot is.) From what i saw online, it tastes horrible so luckly its only 2 ozs.

I get all excited when energy drinks are sold.
Everything that has calories is energy. Someone I work with always drinks a slim fast and on the label it says "Contains nutrients and energy" these are things that can be found in every food product.

Would you print on an apple contains energy and vitamins its just not sensible? I'm trying to lose weight to and its a lot easier to feel hungry more, or workup my appetite than to work out.

I dont need some label telling me what I am drinking has energy.

Just tried it today (slept at 6am woke up at 11am) and it really works. I'd say it's better than Redbull. I did'nt feel anything weird, my tiredness and sleepiness went away gradually in about 5-10 minutes. There might be some psychological factor considering that it was my first time to try it.

tried drinking 4 cans of red bull once, really give me the jeeps and unable to play pool the whole day... think having too much coffee has the same effect on me... heh...

Yrs ago when redbull & vodka was all the rage, a friend of mine had one and I took a sip... the taste was horrible. To this day when I smell redbull or anything like it, it turns my stomach.

Because of this, I've been afraid to try any energy drink. I've got it in my mind that they all taste about the same....
Damn Timberly, this has been my drink of choice recently, other then beer that is. I love it, i think it tastes pretty good too. One of the only alcoholic drinks I know that the more you drink the more awake you get LOL.

You could get effervescent caffeine tablets and toss them into hawaiian punch. Vault is pretty good, tastes like fresca and thats kinda like a fruit flavor.
Yeah I like vault too, kept me awake on day 2 at Valley Forge last march, :D

I work third shift and usually survive it with a combination of some XL Starbucks Americano at the start of the shift and sugar free red bull in the middle of the shift.

ok, tonight i was playing, and i was getting kinda tired, but i wanted to keep playing since tomorrow is sunday and its a holiday weekend.

i had seen an energy drink advertised on TV, and sent away for the free sample. its called "5 HOUR ENERGY" and comes in a little bottle. have any of you posters ever seen it? or used it?

it has a website - 5hourenergy.com - if you want to check it out. i decided not to use it since i havent seen it anywhere in stores, nor have i seen anyone else using it.

Drink a coke if you have to, but eat something with it that has a little protein, like peanuts for instance, to keep your sugar from spiking and making you more tired later.

Well played handball in the hot sun for approx 4.5 hours today. I had bought 4 bottles of the stuff last night and downed a bottle before playing. It tasted ok, kinda like a cheap berry smoothie i had once. Of course its only 2 ozs so theres not much to taste. Didnt really feel anything; no lightening bolt of energy. Started to play. During my breaks i saw that my skin was getting reddish and thought it was that niacin flush the box and site talked about but it could have just been the sun burning my skin. I felt pretty regular through the whole thing. When i got to my friends house to cool down i yawned a few times. My mind wasnt tired though, just the body. So maybe the stuff does work and maybe it doesnt. Hard to tell since it might just be adrenaline. My right hand is shaking a bit making it slightly hard to type. But its just my right hand and not the left so the shaking is probably just from handball.

Well, 3 more bottles left and i'll try them in various situations to see how well it works. I am slightly disappointed but i guess its cause i was expecting too much?

The most popular known use of this product was for the bicycle-powered Daedalus flight from Crete to Santorin over the Agean sea, about 74 miles without stopping. The product with some variation is also used by astronauts to prevent reentry problems.

Pool doesn't require that much endurance (usually!) but maybe this might help some. PM me if interested.

If you are not too much of a fan of the taste of energy drinks may I recommend Rocketfuel coffee (I am not sure if this is sold in the States). It is a self-warming espresso shot with the addition of Guarana (you can also by Rocketfuel teabags) , It is not bad tasting, gives you a good caffeine hit and according to the blurb on their website Guarana:

- Acts as an Aphrodisiac
- Helps with Hangovers
- Eases headaches & migranes
- Assists dieting
- Reduces cellulite

I confess part of me when reading their advertising was picturing Gramp Simpson talking about his revitalising tonic.
