Here is Gascoignes' Flame Hoppe cut to length & the core about to be glued in properly. I have allowed .007" clearance for glue relief. It's hard to see, but the core itself is scored w/ my lathe set to thread.
A note about the core itself-IT IS SHAFT GRADE MAPLE. My cores are turned over a period of about a year, very similiar to my shaft process.(18mo.- 2yrs.) Proper adhesives are required as well.

I cut the final pass about an hour ago. Remember that this is a time frame build. (3 mo.) from start until now. It will take "about" a week to undercoat & spray.
The matched pair of shafts will be in the works next. They will finish @ 4.1-4.2 oz w/no insert. They are beefy & tight 20+rpi.
That IS a piece of player's art man...And 4.1-4.2oz shafts? That's the bomb man! Just how I love it...take your time with the shafts and the cue...Anything that looks this good is definitely worth the wait
