This is going to be another great event and will certainly fill fast. The entry fee is only $100. The tourney is open to pros and is also limited to 32 players. There is a selection process.

What a great tournament. The no conflict rules are very intriguing and I think a positive step for a tournament format. Best wishes on filling the field with 32 champions.

Mr. Hubbart,

Heard a lot of good things about your events. Thanks for hosting them. I have yet to play in one...but I'm within striking distance

Please explain the races you describe as follows: Schofield Event™ Races are: 6-5-5-4 & 8

I like the rules you've made. The racking wars are killing the game.

The format is simple but......it would make for a lengthy post.......I just don't have time. I will just tell you this: Players are never disapointed. They get a big play for their time, travel, and money. I quit double elimination more than two years ago. I have run upwards of 200 events with the format. One player described it like this "I can tell you about it but you really have to come and feel it."

This tournament is filling nicely with a very good field. If you are a good player, Erie PA is where you want to be on the 24th & 25th of this month. Two and done can never happen. Drawing a strong player in the opening round is not a death sentence. You will get a big play for your time, travel, and money. The tournament format and the unusual rules set the table for a great event and a good experience.

We have filled all of our events for years well in advance with good reason!

One week from today we will announce the field online.

One interesting note: A couple of very good players who have sworn that they would never play Nine-Ball again, have decided to participate with the hope that the No Conflict Rules will work.

We are down to the wire. Today, tomorrow, and Sunday are the last days to enter. This is a very good field, the best we have had.

What a field we have! There are still a few hours to enter. We will annouce the field here on AZ and on the Gold Crown website tomorrow.

Rules

I would love to know all the rules in detail. If they are writen down for the event, you can just scan that onto this post. That way you arent doing all the extra work..

Thank for your time and look forward to playing in one of these events.

Just come on up. Like one player said "You got to feel it."

Match Play Rack & Break Rules

(No Conflict Rules)
For Racking and Breaking Eight, Nine, and Ten-Ball
- Players lag for the opening break.
– Players alternate breaks.
– The Random Racking Process is used for Nine and Ten-Ball.
– Breaker racks his own and then breaks the balls.
– The opponent has no rack approval rights.
– Object balls must break the center string vertical plane.*
(2 balls in Nine-Ball, 3 balls in Ten-Ball, 4 balls in Eight-Ball)
– The “game-ball” (8, 9, or 10-ball) made on the break is spotted.
– Breaker shoots after a legal break.

These rules are designed to make pool’s most popular games more fun. The winner of the lag is also the breaker in the hill-hill game. Alternating breaks makes pool more interactive. The Random Racking Process takes an extra 2 or 3 seconds. Not only is checking an opponent’s rack prohibited, it is also pointless. Balls pocketed on the break in the foot corner pockets are not counted toward the center string requirement. This also means that the break requires some degree of force. *If the breaker fails to meet the center string requirement on the break, he is then required to “push out” his next shot. Also applicable is the rule that states that 4 balls must hit a rail. A game cannot be won on the break. “Game balls” are spotted at either end (shooter’s choice). The breaker is not required to make a ball on the break in order to keep his turn at the table.

The Random Racking Process is fast and simple. Non-breaker gathers object balls and prepares the balls for final racking by the breaker. Breaker assists in gathering the object balls. Non-breaker places the object balls in the rack. Without looking down at the rack, non-breaker spins the rack once or twice (shuffles the balls). Non-breaker now looks down at the rack. Non-breaker gets his hands, knuckles, or fingers behind all the balls and then pushes them up to the nine or ten-ball configuration. Then, non-breaker, while only moving 2 balls, swaps the 1-ball into the head-ball position. Then, while only moving 2 balls, swaps the 9 or 10-ball into the middle ball position. Breaker steps in and pushes the balls up to the spot. He racks his own balls. He may not change the ball positions in the rack.

That wasn't so hard...geez
