Can a person use 5mm shims to tighten up Gold Crown I pockets slightly without making the table play poorly? How thick can you safely get away with before needing to extend rails?

Is 2.5mm is 'standard' facing thickness?

Up to a 1/4" inch, but that's it:D but that still won't change the pocket angles;)

Glen

PS. And that's a single thickness 1/4" shim!

Glen,
Not sure I fully understand your response. Are normal facings a single 1/8" that make up the standard 5" opening. So if I double shim (via a single 1/4" facing on each cushion surface) then I will have 4.75" pocket openings, correcto?
