My only Olney, at least for the present, is very similar to your #3. 3 long cocobolo and 3 short ebony points into BEM. I had Mike Pancerny install a rust colored Teju Lizard wrap. Sorry that I don't have a pic, but it gets compliments everytime I pull it out. I also had Jeff make a second shaft with an ivory ferrule but I have to admit that I prefer his original with the LBM. It's the best hitting cue that I've ever owned. I can't say enough good about Jeff or his cues. They're WAY undervalued IMHO.
My next Olney will be a 6 point SW style too, but with very tight, heavily eyed BEM points into a cocobolo front, ringwork at each position. This one will be to my weight and length specs and it remains to be seen if I can like it any more than the first one. That will be a stretch. Jeff says that it's "dead nuts perfect" on the points and the rings. I can't wait.
Your collection is awesome Dale. I'd love to hear how you think Jeff has evolved over time. I'm a little prejudiced. SouthWest has veneers, Olneys have the best hit on the planet IMHO...Tom
