danny harriman, runs a difficult rack, gets tough on the 7-ball (money ball) forgets to call saftey, and it's ball in hand, for thorston hoemann! WOW! later on, danny makes 6 balls on the break, leaving only the 7-ball, and the pockets that! what a rare site. it seems that espn ran more commercials, which means more companys feel pool has an auidence, which is also good. now for the bad, the pocket cam is the world's worst idea. we can't see the positional choice's of the players. finally the screaming in the backround of the espn club, sounded like a lady being raped and murdered, horrible venue. well that's my review, what's yours?

One thing that really bugs me is they cut so much out of the games and then waste several minutes after every commerical break telling you what you just saw before the break. I'd much rather see more full games than the same stuff being recapped for the slow people at the back.

I agree one hundred percent, the pocket cam needs to go. I want to see stroke and english. I thought the matches were filmed well though, and it didnt look like a cam-corder. Wasn't it great to get to see some prime time billiards people, made for a great evening. I dont know if ESPN has a contact e-mail address, but I don't think it would hurt for eveyone to write to espn and tell them how much we liked it.

7 ball is a bastardization of pool, made for the general public and television. it is further evidence of pool being the only sport that is devolving.

so if you accept 7ball, accept it's consequences.

also, unless the extra tv ads are for things like cars and beer, and not simonis cloth, viking cues, and how-to videos,,,,i don't think pool has come THAT far. espn's telecast of vintage pool in april is a good thing, however.

Pool games as comedians

If pool games were charaterized as comedians then 7 ball would be Henny Youngman--(take my wife-PLEASE) and one pocket would be a Dennis Miller Rant.If your attention span requires 7 ball to appreciate pool then all the ADD medications in the world wouldn't prepare you for the real games of pool.

good replys! very funny! and smart. the comedian theory was right on! 9-ball would be gilbert godfried, loud and obnoxious!

Silencer, I wondered about the screaming too. Didn't seem to
bother the players. I would have s..t my pants.

I love that ESPN is showing more pool on television especially men playing ( sorry female fans ), but I wish they wouldn't choose 7ball as their prime time playing game. Last night was the first time ever I fell asleep watching pool on television - thats how unexciting I find 7ball.

It probably didn't help that earlier in the night I watched Efren Reyes play on billiardclub.net. Now that is quality pool.

If 95% of recreational players and 90% of league players play eightball, wouldn't it be financially rewarding for ESPN cater to this demographic?

Please, no time restraint arguements on this one.

regarding the screaming, strickland, would have went to his case, and you would hear mitch lawrence say " looks like he's getting his jump cue, no wait, oh my god allen it's a machine gun DUCK!!!"
