8-Ball Tournament Rating System.

Hi everyone, can anyone please recommend a tournament rating system for 8-ball league tournaments. I'm trying to track stats for every player on my team for every game played. My goal is to crunch the data and assist players in figuring out what shots they need to work on. I'm trying out the Accu-Stats system, but it's primarily designed for 9-ball. It's a fairly complicated system for use in tavern league matches, and explanations on how to use it effectively is very vague. I'm especially having problems with position and safety errors. It's difficult to conclusively define a position error or an intentional safety in 8-ball games (or maybe it's just me). I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you in advance for your help.

So, if you're looking to crunch data I would start with a handicap system that has the largest user base, and history. The APA have been around for 35 years and they claim over 265,000 players participating in their weekly league.

The handicap system American PoolPlayers Association uses for 8-ball scoring includes marking down safeties and innings. You can always refine it by adding the number of balls made in each inning (as in APA 9-ball scoring).
