I took a long ride based on some blurry pictures and came home with these yesterday. I think I’m going to keep the Pau Ferro Mali and the D8. My son and I have shot a little bit and he seems to enjoy it. I’m hoping he might want to upgrade from the old Adam sneaky Pete he is using now. In my opinion, nothing plays quite like an old maple PJ with a big pin.

It looks like the McDermott cues have different pins?
How come?
I noticed that. I have had McD’s with both styles of nose. The only thing I can think of is different guy on the lathe that day.

The D-4’s pin is finished the same way as my C-10. The D-8’s pin looks like what I’m use to seeing on a McD.

The D series spans from 84-90, so things can change.

The one pin looks old. Maybe they ran out and used old pins! Looks like a pin Joss used when Tim was doing the ivory joint builds there. They may have bought them from McD. I forget. The threads were chaste almost. Fit tight. It might have used a different tap to bore the threads too. Maybe not. Good cues.
Nick :)
