9 Ball Break... 1 off the table

Yesterday I was playing at a bar and was about to leave and somebody wanted me to play a quick game with them. I had already put my stick away so I grabbed a house cue of the wall...

So I go to break from the side rail on this barbox and I felt like juicing it up and I hit it with all I had. The cue ball hit the stack and the 1 ball flew about 3 feet in the air and landed off the table.

I've never seen then happen before and found it quite comical.

I imagine the cue ball must have hit the 1 while it was still in the air to make the 1 fly off the table.

Anyone ever see this happen before?

yeah... something you may not have known, but in all hard breaks, the cueball is airborne. How airborne depends on how level you kept your stick when you hit it, but nobody shoots 100% level so the ball is always flying at the rack on a hard break. For the 1 to get airborne must mean it rolled off and was separated from the rack, otherwise the balls behind it would keep it from moving much. You must have hit a certain part of 1 also.

I haven't seen it either. Try to jump the 9 next :P
