9 ball handicapping questions? Ball spot/break/rules

I have my biggest match coming up and Im looking for some input on a few areas.

I have the game set up in advance, rules are as follows:
8 ahead
Alternate break
I get wild 7,8 not including the break
9 ball has to be pocketed last, spotted if fluked or combo
Time limit has also been set, and prorate by the game.

Here are some questions,
As being the weaker player, will alternate break help me? Im thinking it will atleast limit any break and runs to one at a time.

I added in the 9 ball last rule full well knowing that I can carom, combo or fluke in the 7 or the 8 and win. I think this is a bigger spot/edge than in seems, input?

If I think I am the favourite given the ball spot in general, which of the rules help the most/do any of them take any of the edge away for me?

Prorating by the game just makes the game have a stop point if neither player gets 8 ahead. I dont have unlimited time on the day playing so I am the one who set the time limit. I also chose the ahead set as I think my opponent can win a race but I think I have a much better chance of being 8 ahead instead of them.

Are there any other stipulations that help the weaker player?

For me, I like the alternate break in tournaments, but not when I'm gambling. If I think that I have the best of it, I want to break after a win. An 8 ahead match is about momentum and 1/3 of the table wins the game for you. With the 7&8 wild, you have the potential to string mutiple racks together without your opponent shooting, I think the alternate break hurts in this case. Goood Luck in your match.

I agree about the break, but I dont want my opponent to be running multiple racks on me for big money. I just want my turn to run one back on him. Also with the 9 ball rule, even if he breaks and the 9 ball is sitting over a hole, he cant win a game that way unlike my 7,8 wild.
