In this exact scenario, 1/4 cut break. Making the 1 ball into the side.
To be more specific cut the 1 ball on the same side of the table you are breaking from. while drawing the cueball to the side rail.
The 1/4 cut is crucial here.
you're cutting it more because the rack is closer to you.
This doesn't work on 9' and I haven't tried it on 8'
The cut breaks works on 9 footers also when you can't break from the side for the 1 or the corner balls.
True, but not sure a 1/4 ball cut works on the 9', I think that's pretty extreme.
Oh you mean 1/4 ball hit, not 1/4 ball cut (so 3/4 ball hit) I may have pictured the shot differently. 1/4 ball 1 ball hit seems a really thin, I would think it would scratch often.
