9 Ball Situation (5) - What would you do here?

I try most shots before I post... Holding wasn't the problem the line is the hard part. I played, mostly bottom and a half tip of right. I also tried hitting it a little harder with bottom and check side. It is almost a 1/4 ball hit and lag weight. Takes a smooth stroke though... any jab or punch stroke will give you the extra rails

I have a new table with 860 and aramith balls... only 5 months old with no bad rolls.
 
I don't like letting the CB go which is the case with a cut on the 2 in either direction.

I would slow roll the CB square into the 2, sending the 2 to the middle diamond and leaving the CB about where the 2 ball is.

I'd let the other guy be the hero with a long bank left or a return safety.

This is a solid play. I think a lot of us think the 2-ball is definitely going in and it's not. It's a challenging shot. However, by attempting the 2-ball, you give yourself two-way action. You can overcut and still leave your opponent safe.

I had no problems getting the CB to your position A either on a 9 ft. Olhausen with 860 in good condition and recently tightened rail bolts.

Yeah, in my first post on this I played it down to the middle of the table but in reality, as my post note said, hitting it that thin and expecting to stop mid table is going to take a helluva lotta skill. I apologize to anyone that says go directly into those 2 balls from the 2 but I think that's way too risky. Someone mentioned hitting the outisde of the 5.....I think that takes CB control that is way above my speed. There was one diagram that showed my pattern except going 4 rails. I like that but in all fairness speed control would be essential and extremely tough. Someone else posted banking the 2 up table and using the 6,9,4 as blockers. That seems like the safest bet.

Wow, that's very fortunate position. I mean, I can't fault her for her strategy - make the 2-ball and guarantee you can do something with the 3. You keep it simple and sometimes things are going to roll your way.
