What does the "snap" refer to?

Is it the sound that the break makes?

Or is it a football reference?

dual meaning

The 'Snap' refers to the break's sound, but also to the 9 going straight into a corner pocket on the break. To snap it means to make the 9 on the break.

In fact, I was given the pool nickname, Snapshot, because of the way I break the balls.
