Been starting to play more barbox pool lately, you know heavier cue ball, bad felt, dead rails etc... I was wondering if there are particular cue set up designed for barbox pool. You know - different shaft taper, ferrules, tip, joint, weight etc...

I would think any cue that you can really control would work. Lot's of stop and pop on the barboxes.

Koop - not a cuemaker but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night

Some guys I knew used to believe that a slightly thicker shaft would help them maneuver around on the barboxes a bit better. I just smiled and kept taking their money with my thin shafted cue :) No tellin' how good I I'd be if I had used a thicker shaft :D

Adjust your stroke, not the cue. If the cueball was literally twice as large, it might be a different story. I am not a cuemaker, and that is just my opinion. Others might disagree.

I agree completely. I like to shorten my stroke a bit more among other adjustments on barboxes. Use your same cue.

I'm just waiting for all the cue makers to see niche market possibilities......The all new slammin barbox breaker cue.........28 oz sneaky to crush them on the table..... (I know an apa guy breaks with this cue...)..... or the banger barbox masse cue.....(manufacturer assumes no liability for ripped felt)....
