here's the situation. i have a severly warped mali butt, yet when i play with it, i play very well and LOVE really LOVE the balance of the cue. i have yet, not found a "straight" cue that i feel as comfterable with. question, what would you do? throw the cue away for a straight one that feels "wrong" in my hands, or keep the warped cue, and play well with it. on this subject, has anyone played with a warped butt, and made all the shots they needed to make??????? when does warped come into play? i say when you miss more than you make, it's time for a new cue. i believe a cue has to be as warped as w.c. fields cue for it to be unplayable.

Very old saying - if it ain't broke don't fix it. In the late 80's I shot a small money proposition game of 8 ball. The propositon was that I had to use a house cue that had one of those ugly push on tip/ferrule things. My opponent unscrewed the handle from a push broom and rubbed some chalk on the rounded wood end. We played bar room rules having to call everything about the shot. He won. The cue does not make the shooter - the shooter makes the cue.

I have always thought that the only thing that causes problems is if the shaft itself is warped and then only the part of the shaft that passes through your bridge. How would a warp in the butt affect your shot making ability? Just curious.

you play with what you feel comfortable with,,,you play with what gives you the best results.

Heck no I wouldn't get rid of it. You play with what you feel is comfortable. If nothing more than psychological, you put another cue in your hands and you may be helpless.
