> Up until Thursday night,I had never seen a Falcon that I would consider gorgeous, but I have now. It's a Mustang series M-3,in cocobolo, the same cue can also be bought in ebony. This one has such a dark, wildly figured cocobolo that I had to look at it several times under the brightest light in the building to make sure it wasn't a burl of some type. These cues have the short, white joint, made from the same VERY convincing looking synthetic ivory as the points. It was wrapped in the slickest solid black linen I've ever felt,I had to check it again to see if it wasn't a smooth leather. The guy that has it probably won't sell it any time soon, but I'd sure like to have that one. It hit just like the typical Falcon/Joss/Brunswick does because Danny Janes helped set up their equipment, thus the joint is identical, but since this one has the synthetic joint it was just a little crisper/snappier than normal, which to me is a good thing. The shaft wood is as clear as I've ever seen in a cue in that price range, and not quite snow white but real close,I counted 16 growth rings in both shafts, and the grain was so clean it looked like a fiberglass house cue. He pretty much robbed the room owner that had it too. The owner told him it had been sitting in the case for over a year, and no one made a move on it,so he said make me an offer. The guy that bought it pulled out a 10 yr old Meucci 4 point with 2 slightly warped shafts and asked what he would give for the Meucci in trade-in value, and nearly sh*t himself when the owner offered to trade him EVEN. I've already offered him 300 for it,no dice. Tommy D.
