A Great and Fun Day with Stan

Spent 9:30 to 4:30 at Stan's place yesterday. We spent the morning working on some stroke, stance and footwork tweaks along with Stan sharing a few of his favorite drills. Stan's overall knowledge and understanding of pool is off the charts. What he gave me in the morning was more than worth the trip. We drove down the road and had a great lunch at this little BBQ place while Stan shared some Hal Houle stories.

We spent the afternoon focused on Pro One. We spent time on shots where the distance between CB/OB is less than 12", edge to A/C and edge to 1/8, identifying which visual is correct, banking and English. Stan threw in other very helpful things along the way. It was more like CTE/Pro One 201/301. One thing that Stan identified will really help me on the ETA, ETC and 1/8 was eye dominance. He figured out I was seeing the edge to x with one eye (depending on right/left cut) and then seeing the line with the other eye. This was really screwing me up on these shots.

Stan is a gifted teacher and just a really great person. I learned a ton and had an incredibly fun time. If you love the game of pool and have a strong desire to improve, you absolutely should plan a trip to see Stan. I guarantee you'd learn a ton, improve your game and have a great time. Thanks so much Stan!

Stan is a great teacher - no question.

Scott - I was actually in Jacksonville for 10 hours visiting friends last week. St. John's County...we spent the week before at Disney - I am still hungover from theme parks.

Awesome, glad to hear you finally were able to get together with Stan. I'm jealous!!!

Thanks, Nobcitypool!

I really appreciate your positive review. I had a great time working with you. Your enthusiasm toward the game is really what's off the chart. That along with your desire and determination will serve you well in continuing to improve your game.

Stan would have to be one of the most sought after instructors in the world.
Introducing CTE to the world and presented like a true teacher.
If I lived in the USA I wouldn't hesitate to travel to learn what he has to offer.
Cheers

Thank you, Gazman100!

Of course, and as I always say, Hal Houle and his work,to include his promotion of CTE,
has served as a springboard for my immersion into the world of center to edge aiming.

Many thanks to Hal Houle!

Wow, would have been nice to play but with that short period of time family comes first. I'm in St. Johns County as well.

If you are ever through the area again let me know!
