Not worried about it splitting. It is 1/4 X 2 Oak I got at lows. I pre drilled and used Elmer's wood glue behind it. This is the first time I had done rail extending. I have replaced the rubber quite a few times with no issues so far. I have been working on tables off and on for over 20 years and was trained well. I take my time and do the best I can do. I have worked on all types of tables from snooker to the Diamond tables. Yes the pockets had to be trimmed but that was expected and the guy a member here is very happy with it. He said it plays great. That is the main thing for me. He's happy. I know its hard to please everyone when doing this type of work. Anyway thanks to all just thought I would share. Thanks again

I'm not trying to be a azz or argue but what you did is a two dollar job on a two dollar table... I could bunch up rags and use them for cushions with fresh cloth on them and they'll play quick and responsive untill the balls stop sliding around.. Any good mechanic or player knows those rails and cushions play like chit....
Nothing personal against you but I can't belive you posted what you did to that table on the forums...I'm thinking that the table did not even have a slate bed' those are throw away tables... Again it sounds like I'm throwing stones but you asked what I think of what I see...
