.......The wood is going to split rite on the grain like a karate chop breaks a board...The extension will be in the way of the ball baskets.... Live and learn.... But great effort'

You could have used thinner wood & laminated them to prevent the splitting breakage. Just an idea.

Not sure what this even means... Besides that looks like oak? doubt you'll have any problem with anything splitting. as far as the pocket linings fitting, Im sure they can be trimmed to fit. Maybe I'm missing something?

Not worried about it splitting. It is 1/4 X 2 Oak I got at lows. I pre drilled and used Elmer's wood glue behind it. This is the first time I had done rail extending. I have replaced the rubber quite a few times with no issues so far. I have been working on tables off and on for over 20 years and was trained well. I take my time and do the best I can do. I have worked on all types of tables from snooker to the Diamond tables. Yes the pockets had to be trimmed but that was expected and the guy a member here is very happy with it. He said it plays great. That is the main thing for me. He's happy. I know its hard to please everyone when doing this type of work. Anyway thanks to all just thought I would share. Thanks again

looks good to me. I have an old 9ft Anniversary that plays like a dream but has giant pockets... I have it shimmed up a little tighter with pocket facings which works.. kinda... but I'd love to get the sub rails extended. Your work looks clean.

Has this work been authorized by Glen "The Real King Cobra" ??

If not, I suggest you take it elsewhere.

:D

I'm not trying to be a azz or argue but what you did is a two dollar job on a two dollar table... I could bunch up rags and use them for cushions with fresh cloth on them and they'll play quick and responsive untill the balls stop sliding around.. Any good mechanic or player knows those rails and cushions play like chit....
Nothing personal against you but I can't belive you posted what you did to that table on the forums...I'm thinking that the table did not even have a slate bed' those are throw away tables... Again it sounds like I'm throwing stones but you asked what I think of what I see...
