So the other day I was thinking 'what would the DRIVERMAKER think about this years tournament' ... and then it came to me ... in a dream ... perhaps it was a vision ... or was it an email, I cant really say for sure .... it's all a blur ... anyway, an interview might have gone something like this :
Dave: "Who do you think will do well in this years DMMHT"?
DM: "My guess is ANYBODY that actually plays the game as opposed to being a know-it-all pontificator all year who goes into hiding for the event. The best thing about pool is playing it, not writing about it".
Dave: "Do you think a certain style of play or equipment is better suited to score well in this format"?
DM: "Yes, I think the advantage goes to a science type that obsesses about deflection, who doesn't aim at all or uses the Helen Keller method of aiming by 'feel', with a "custom" sneaky Pete made from a sawed in half house cue with titanium screw, buckhorn ferrule, no wrap for maximum accuracy, a modified Predator shaft with zero "whippiness", an 11.5 mm Kamui tip, a price tag of between $500-$1000 bucks and far better than any production junk, who doesn't need a periscope to see over the rails, should have the best shot at doing well."
Dave: "Any other thoughts"?
DM: "Although Williebetmore and Breakup aren't officially sworn-in posse members, they do a fine job of creating interest every year and they deserve appreciation for their hard work. Other than that, happy shooting and happy holidays."
Dave: "I’ll drink to that ! Thanks for the interview, and happy holidays yourself oldtimer, enjoy your retirement ! "
