A nice little shot applicable to 14.1..your thoughts

hola,

not just in 99 critical shots in pool :) Also or already in George Fels "Mastering Pool" -- If i remember correctly it was Diagram 12 on Page 8 or 9 :D
Same principle for this kind of kiss/carom shot. Comes often after the first opening safety in straight-pool.
These kind of combinations have to be in your arsenal if you re a straight-pool player. The art is just to see it....to make the shot is often the easiest thing.

There are a lot of similar shots and they come up all the time except since people aren't really familiar with them, they go unseen.

They were a routine part of straight pool 40 or more years ago. Players engaged in a safety battle would examine everything they could think of.

You can also use this multiple carom shot just bouncing the cue ball off multiple object balls before it hits the called ball. The back of the partially opened rack is a place where a lot of these shots come up or at least it is a place where you might be loking for some kind of shot.

It is a good practice to spend some time setting up and trying different apparent 'trick' shots to get a feel for what is doable.
