I tried to get a pool group at my office but the demand was not there. And then the individual expectations clashed greatly.

not really helping, just saying what I i tried and how I think it failed.

A larger pool movement has to be made for the current generation to feel welcomed into it.

Ah so more of a social league then anything competitive.

USAPL and BCA has online league software, they may be interested in getting a college league in the fold. Would basically be like another league franchise for them.

Most of the leagues i know have a large social component. And for tournaments, the large majority pay to enter with no expectation of placing, or even surviving the first two matches.

When i and most of the players I know started, it was primarily a social event and a place to hangout. IF it isn't welcoming, people won't stay. If people do stay, they often get interested in playing better.

I knew one room owner that when a couple of women would come in for a drink, if the room was not busy, he'd offer them free pool for a couple of hours. He thought that having them playing made the room more attractive and welcoming for others.
