Hi guys,

I have a question about SledgeHammer J/B cues. I just got one from ebay, and want to know something's about them.

Now I believe they have phenlic tips, and I was told that with those types of tips you don't chalk them up. Is that true, or a bunch of foowy? How do they break and jump as well?

tips

Chalk before each shot, center ball hit, good cue. if you break with a descending blow you won't like it. it's a jumper

DITTO, I been using one for 5 years. Jumps like champ when you get use to it. Chault it everytime. Somebody been feeding you some foowy!

Always chalk. I dont care what type of tip is on my break cue, it will be chalked before I strike. A little control is better then none at all.

Definitely chalk. I have owned two and they are fairly nice. I just hope you get one that the second joint lines up correctly with. I contacted Mike G about my two that had joints not lining up and he pretty much told me that they weren't ones made in his shop so the tip and ferrule were the only thing under warranty :-(

Eric.

Yes you chalk them ever time. What you do not do however is scuff the tip. Maybe that's what the person telling meant to say?

I chaulk up the tip, and skuff it up every once in a while (once for every 58.3 powerbreaks).

Hope this helps!
